Money & Solicitation Policy

Our approach

PrayerApp is a platform for prayer, encouragement, community and testimony.

It is not a fundraising platform, payment platform, marketplace or financial services platform.

People who share prayer requests may sometimes be experiencing financial difficulties, illness, grief, relationship problems or other difficult circumstances. These moments of vulnerability must never be used as an opportunity to pressure, manipulate or financially exploit another member of the community.

For this reason, PrayerApp prohibits personal financial solicitation on the platform.

1. No asking other users for money

You may not ask, pressure or encourage other PrayerApp users to send you money.

This includes requests made through:

  • Prayer requests.
  • Testimonies.
  • Comments.
  • Direct messages.
  • User profiles.
  • Images or videos.
  • Links.
  • External contact information.

Examples include:

  • Asking users to send you money directly.
  • Posting bank account or mobile money details for personal donations.
  • Asking users to pay your bills or expenses.
  • Requesting money for rent, medical treatment, school fees or personal emergencies.
  • Directing users to a personal fundraising page.
  • Asking users to send money through another platform.

We understand that people may genuinely experience financial hardship. However, PrayerApp's community features are designed for prayer and encouragement, not financial transactions between users.

2. No spiritual services in exchange for money

You may not charge, request or pressure another user to provide money or anything of financial value in exchange for:

  • Prayer.
  • Prophecy.
  • Spiritual counselling.
  • Deliverance.
  • Healing.
  • Religious rituals.
  • Spiritual guidance.
  • Access to a religious leader.
  • Any claimed spiritual service.

Examples include:

  • "Send a seed and I will pray for your breakthrough."
  • "God has revealed something about you. Pay to receive the prophecy."
  • "Donate before I can begin your prayer session."
  • "Send money to unlock your blessing."

These activities are prohibited on PrayerApp.

3. No financial pressure disguised as spiritual instruction

You may not use religious or spiritual language to pressure another person into giving money.

This includes:

  • Claiming that God instructed someone to send you money.
  • Telling someone they will lose a blessing if they do not give.
  • Suggesting that payment is necessary for healing, deliverance or spiritual protection.
  • Using fear, guilt or spiritual consequences to obtain money.
  • Claiming that a financial contribution will guarantee a miracle, blessing or outcome.
  • Exploiting someone's faith to obtain financial benefit.

PrayerApp does not permit financial pressure, regardless of how it is framed.

4. No unsolicited fundraising

During the current version of PrayerApp, users may not use the platform to organise or promote personal fundraising campaigns.

This includes:

  • Crowdfunding campaigns.
  • Donation appeals.
  • Personal charity drives.
  • Emergency fundraising.
  • Church fundraising.
  • Ministry fundraising.
  • Fundraising links posted in comments or direct messages.

PrayerApp may introduce verified fundraising or charitable organisation features in the future under separate policies. Until then, fundraising is not permitted unless expressly authorised by PrayerApp.

5. No scams or fraudulent financial activity

You must not use PrayerApp to:

  • Operate or promote a scam.
  • Request financial information.
  • Request banking credentials.
  • Request mobile money credentials.
  • Send fraudulent payment links.
  • Offer fake investment opportunities.
  • Operate cryptocurrency scams.
  • Conduct advance-fee fraud.
  • Impersonate a charity or religious organisation to obtain money.

Any suspected scam should be reported immediately.

6. No commercial solicitation through prayer requests

PrayerApp should not be used to disguise advertising or sales activity as prayer or spiritual content.

Do not use prayer requests, testimonies or comments to:

  • Sell products or services.
  • Recruit customers.
  • Promote investment schemes.
  • Generate sales leads.
  • Recruit users into unauthorised programmes.
  • Promote unrelated commercial businesses through unsolicited messaging.

Limited organisational or verified partner features may be introduced in the future under separate rules.

7. Links and external platforms

Posting a link does not make otherwise prohibited solicitation acceptable.

Users may not direct others to:

  • Payment applications.
  • Personal bank accounts.
  • Mobile money accounts.
  • Personal fundraising pages.
  • Unauthorised donation platforms.
  • Websites requesting payment for spiritual services.

PrayerApp may restrict or remove links that appear to facilitate prohibited financial activity.

8. Reporting financial solicitation

If someone asks you for money or attempts to pressure you financially, please report the content or conversation.

You should report:

  • Requests for money.
  • "Seed" or offering requests directed at individual users.
  • Paid prophecy or spiritual service offers.
  • Suspicious payment links.
  • Claims that you must pay to receive spiritual help.
  • Requests for banking or financial information.
  • Any activity that makes you feel financially pressured or manipulated.

Where available, you should also block the account.

9. What happens when this policy is violated

PrayerApp may take action including:

  • Removing the content.
  • Removing links or payment information.
  • Restricting direct messaging.
  • Warning the user.
  • Temporarily suspending the account.
  • Permanently removing the account.
  • Preserving relevant information where necessary for safety or legal reasons.

Serious or repeated attempts to financially exploit users may result in immediate account suspension.

10. Our safety principle

PrayerApp exists so people can find others willing to pray with them.

Prayer should never become a tool for financial exploitation.

If someone needs your prayer, you are welcome to pray for them.

If someone offers encouragement, receive it freely.

But no one should have to pay to be prayed for, pressured to give money, or made to feel that their faith depends on a financial transaction.
