Welcome to PrayerApp

PrayerApp is a community built around prayer, encouragement and testimony.

People come here to share what is on their hearts, pray with one another, offer encouragement and celebrate what God has done.

We want PrayerApp to be a place where people can be vulnerable without being exploited, where faith can be expressed without harassment, and where every member is treated with dignity and respect.

These Community Guidelines explain what we expect from everyone who uses PrayerApp.

1. Treat people with respect

PrayerApp brings together people from different backgrounds, cultures and Christian traditions.

You may not agree with every prayer, belief, testimony or opinion shared on the platform. Disagreement is allowed. Abuse is not.

Do not:

  • Harass, bully or intimidate others.
  • Threaten or wish harm upon another person.
  • Use hateful or degrading language.
  • Repeatedly contact someone who has asked you to stop.
  • Target someone because of their faith, background, nationality, gender or other personal characteristic.
  • Deliberately shame someone for sharing a prayer request or personal testimony.

Be especially mindful that people may share deeply personal experiences on PrayerApp.

2. Do not exploit people who are vulnerable

Many people come to PrayerApp during difficult moments in their lives.

Do not use someone's prayer request, testimony or personal circumstances as an opportunity to manipulate, deceive or exploit them.

This includes:

  • Targeting users who appear emotionally, financially or personally vulnerable.
  • Claiming to have special knowledge about someone's private circumstances in order to gain their trust.
  • Using fear, guilt or spiritual pressure to control another person.
  • Threatening someone with spiritual consequences if they do not follow your instructions.
  • Attempting to establish inappropriate dependency or authority over another user.
  • Contacting users for the purpose of exploiting their personal difficulties.

PrayerApp takes reports of exploitation and manipulation seriously.

3. Do not ask for or solicit money

PrayerApp is not a fundraising or financial solicitation platform.

You may not use PrayerApp to:

  • Ask other users to send you money.
  • Solicit donations.
  • Request "seed offerings" or other financial contributions.
  • Sell spiritual services.
  • Require payment in exchange for prayer, prophecy, counselling or spiritual guidance.
  • Pressure users to give money, gifts or financial information.
  • Direct users to external fundraising or payment platforms for personal solicitation.

This rule applies to prayers, testimonies, comments, profiles, direct messages and links shared on PrayerApp.

Legitimate charitable or organisational fundraising may be considered in the future under separate platform policies. It is not permitted during the initial version of PrayerApp unless expressly authorised by PrayerApp.

4. Be honest about who you are

Do not impersonate another person, church, pastor, ministry, organisation or public figure.

Do not:

  • Create an account pretending to be someone else.
  • Misrepresent your relationship with a church or organisation.
  • Create misleading accounts designed to deceive other users.
  • Use another person's identity, photographs or personal information without permission.
  • Operate multiple accounts for the purpose of avoiding enforcement or manipulating activity on the platform.

We do not require users to hold any particular religious title or position to participate in PrayerApp. However, users must not falsely claim titles, affiliations or authority in order to deceive others.

5. Protect privacy

Do not share another person's private or sensitive information without their permission.

This includes:

  • Phone numbers.
  • Home addresses.
  • Email addresses.
  • Financial information.
  • Private messages.
  • Medical information.
  • Images or videos of another person shared without permission.
  • Information about children or vulnerable individuals.

Think carefully before sharing personal information about yourself as well.

Do not post someone else's prayer request or personal situation without their permission if doing so could expose sensitive information about them.

6. Keep direct messages safe and respectful

Direct messaging is intended to help members build genuine and respectful connections.

Do not use direct messages to:

  • Harass or threaten someone.
  • Send repeated unwanted messages.
  • Solicit money.
  • Send scams or fraudulent offers.
  • Manipulate someone spiritually or emotionally.
  • Pressure someone to move a conversation to another platform.
  • Request inappropriate personal information.
  • Send sexually explicit or exploitative content.

Users should always respect another person's decision not to respond.

If someone makes you uncomfortable, you can block and report them.

7. Do not post harmful or illegal content

Do not post, share or promote content involving:

  • Violence or credible threats of violence.
  • Child sexual exploitation or abuse.
  • Sexual exploitation.
  • Terrorism or violent extremist activity.
  • Criminal activity or fraud.
  • Dangerous scams.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery.
  • Instructions intended to cause serious harm.
  • Content that violates applicable law.

Content involving an immediate risk of serious harm may result in immediate action.

8. Respect the purpose of PrayerApp

PrayerApp is designed for prayer, encouragement, faith-based community and testimony.

Do not use the platform primarily for:

  • Spam.
  • Mass advertising.
  • Unauthorised commercial promotion.
  • Manipulating engagement.
  • Artificially increasing followers, prayer counts or other activity.
  • Repeatedly posting irrelevant content.
  • Automated or bot-driven activity without permission.

You may share your genuine experiences and participate in meaningful discussion, but the platform should not be used as a channel for unsolicited marketing.

9. Be responsible when sharing spiritual advice

PrayerApp welcomes people praying for and encouraging one another.

However, users should be careful not to present personal opinions as guaranteed outcomes or professional advice.

Do not:

  • Guarantee a healing, miracle or financial outcome.
  • Pressure someone to stop seeking qualified medical, legal or emergency assistance.
  • Claim that another user must follow your instructions to avoid spiritual harm.
  • Use claims of divine authority to manipulate another person.

PrayerApp does not verify or endorse individual prophecies, revelations, miracles, healings or theological claims shared by users.

10. Protect children and young people

PrayerApp is not intended for children under the minimum age specified in our Terms of Use.

Never exploit, sexualise, endanger or share inappropriate content involving a minor.

We may immediately remove content and suspend accounts where we believe a child may be at risk.

11. Report concerns

If you see something that violates these Guidelines, please report it.

You can report:

  • Prayers.
  • Testimonies.
  • Comments.
  • Profiles.
  • Direct messages.

Reporting categories may include:

  • Harassment or bullying.
  • Scam or fraud.
  • Financial solicitation.
  • Spiritual manipulation.
  • Impersonation.
  • Sexual exploitation.
  • Threat or violence.
  • Spam.
  • Privacy violation.
  • Other concerns.

You can also block users you do not want to interact with.

12. What happens when rules are broken

Depending on the seriousness and context of a violation, PrayerApp may:

  • Remove content.
  • Limit the visibility of content.
  • Issue a warning.
  • Restrict certain account features.
  • Temporarily suspend an account.
  • Permanently remove an account.
  • Take steps to prevent further abuse.
  • Cooperate with appropriate authorities where legally required.

We may consider factors such as the severity of the violation, previous behaviour, user reports and whether there is an immediate risk of harm.

13. Appeals

If you believe PrayerApp made a mistake in moderating your content or account, you may request a review where an appeal option is available.

Appeals are reviewed based on the information available and the applicable policies.

Submitting an appeal does not guarantee that a moderation decision will be reversed.

PrayerApp works best when people look out for one another.

  • Share honestly.
  • Pray sincerely.
  • Encourage generously.
  • Respect people's privacy.
  • Never exploit someone's vulnerability.
